Saturday brings crucial matchups for Lancer Nation

 

WINONA LAKE, Ind. - This Saturday marks an important day of athletic events for Grace.

Four postseason contests and a pair of hoops games results in a day of excitement and anticipation on Nov. 7.


CROSS COUNTRY
What: 2015 Crossroads League Championships
Where: Huntington University
When: 10:30 a.m.
Importance: This is the climax of the cross country season. The men's and women's teams will square off directly with their league rivals to see who comes out on top.
Runners to watch: Joel Bertelsen and Katelyn McCullough


WOMEN'S SOCCER
What: Crossroads League Tournament Semifinals vs. Marian
Where: Miller Athletic Complex | Grace College
When: 1 p.m.
Coverage: Video | Stats
Importance: The winner of Grace/Marian advances to the tournament finals to play for an automatic bid to NAIA Nationals. The Lady Lancers are also looking to bolster its tournament résumé for a spot to their first NAIA National Championship.

MEN'S SOCCER

Importance: The Lancers are hoping to continue their magical 50th season with a shot to play for the tournament title.

VOLLEYBALL
What: Crossroads League Tournament Quarterfinals vs. Bethel
Where: Manahan Orthopaedic Capital Center | Grace College
When: 6 p.m.
Coverage: Video
Importance: The Lady Lancers are squaring off against rival Bethel. The teams split the regular-season series and tied with a 9-9 league record. Grace earned the No. 4 seed and home court via tiebreaker.
