PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. – Grace's baseball team wrapped up the nonleague schedule by splitting against Trinity Christian on Tuesday.

The game was originally slotted to be Grace's home opener at Miller Field, but weather moved the game to the Trojans' field on Tuesday.

Grace scored a run in each of the first two innings against Trinity Christian, but the Lancers' run production ran out for the rest of the contest. The Trojans (9-10) scored six runs on 10 hits in the game en route to a 6-2 victory.

Quentin Herbster led Grace from the plate going 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Brook Vosler went 1-for-3 with a run and a stolen base.

Grace's offense picked up in the second game, outhitting the Trojans 10-4. The combined pitching of Wesley Gensch, Alex Mosbarger and CJ Swartz limited Trinity Christian to two runs in seven innings as Grace won 5-2.

Austin Green and Frank Rocchio each drove in a run in the first inning to move the Lancers (7-8) on top 2-0. The Trojans rallied to tie the game in the third inning, but Grace scored three in the fifth to win the game.

Vosler led off the inning with a single, and Herbster and CJ Swartz got on to load the bases. Green then singled to drive in two go-ahead runs. Paul Blankley drove in an insurance run later in the inning.

Swartz came in to pitch the final two innings and shut down the Trojans. He limited Trinity to just one hit and zero walks to earn the save.

Vosler was 3-for-4 from the leadoff position, and Swartz was 2-for-2. Herbster scored two runs, and Green drove in three runs.

The Lancers are scheduled to play their home opener and Crossroads League opener on Thursday against Goshen College.
