ANGOLA, Ind. - Grace's indoor track and field season had its first competition of 2023 on Saturday.
The Lancers competed at Trine University for the Sean Brady Alumni Invitational.
On the women's side, Olivia Adkins was runner-up in the 400-meter run with a time of 1:03.48.
Carmen Trier, who recently rejoined Grace after transferring back over Christmas break, ran well. She was sixth in the 800 at 2:33.82, and she placed 11th in the mile with a time of 5:32.
Mallory Hiatt (2:39.28) and Caroline Kolb (2:41.88) were not far behind in the 800, and Kate Hornocker was ninth in the 3,000 (12:10.73).
Mackenzie DeLong finished sixth in the shot put (37-feet-5), and freshman Malia Butler cleared 15-4 in the long jump.
Claire Horvath and Emily McCreary both jumped 4-9 in the high jump.
The men's highlight came in the 800 as Grace had three of the top-four finishers. Tanner Sallee was first (1:59.73), Luke Smith was second (2:00.43) and Brady Hunsberger was fourth (2:01.39).
Korry Hamlin led the Lancers in the mile with a time of 4:35.71 to finish in 11th place, and Noah Zimmerman (20-feet-10.75) and Josh Pike (20-4.25) went ninth and 10th respectively in the long jump.
Brock Lengacher led the men's throwers with a 16th-place showing in the weight throw (43-2.5).

The Lancers are back in action on Saturday next week, traveling to Indiana Tech.
