MARION, Ind. - Grace's track and field team began the 2026 Crossroads League Championship on Thursday.
The Lancers had numerous scoring events and hit a national standard in the process.
The men's 4x800-meter relay team ran to an NAIA "B" standard. Brady Hunsberger, Caleb Nichols, Ty McPhatter and Kyle Robinson finished in a time of 7:40.62, placing sixth in the league.
The women had two athletes score points in the high jump. Sophie Rupp cleared 5-feet-2.5 on her final attempt, claiming fourth place in the league. Lani Calizo placed sixth with a leap of 4-10.75.
Brock Lengacher produced a fifth-place showing in the discus, launching 139 feet.
Mick Wright ran the third-fastest time in the prelims of the 100 dash (10.58 seconds) and will compete in the finals on Friday. He also made the cut in the 200 by .04 seconds.
Michael Muiruri qualified for Friday's finals in the 110 hurdles, running 15.88 in the preliminary race.
Blake McCoy finished ninth in the high jump as a freshman (6-0.75).
Abby Affholter was also ninth in the shot put (36-5) and was the top-finishing freshman.
In the heptathlon, Grace has two athletes in the top-eight. Makayla Neal is in fifth after three events, and Molly Hofmann sits in eighth.
The Lancers will wrap up the league championships on Friday, beginning at 9:10 a.m. with the heptathlon and ending after 4 p.m. with the 4x400 relays.
