ASHEVILLE, N.C. - Grace's track and field team wrapped up its final meet of the season at the 2026 NAIA National Championships.
Cece Mitchell earned the highlight of the week. She produced an All-American finish in the 10,000-meter race, earning eighth place with a time of 37:16.06.
Mitchell climbed from 10th place over her final two laps. She ran a blazing 1:18.34 final lap to beat the next runner by six seconds, clinching the final All-American spot in the race.
Mitchell completed the trifecta of NAIA All-American honors during the school year, earning an All-American finish in cross country, indoor track and field (5,000m) and outdoor track and field.
The women's 4x800 relay began Grace's performance on Wednesday evening. Addi Dewey, Cherish May, Morgan Welch and Cadence Manning produced a time of 9:21.54, good for 23rd in the country.
The men's 4x800 followed up. The crew of Kyle Robinson, Brady Hunsberger, Caleb Nichols and Ty McPhatter ran a race of 7:42.52, also placing 23rd overall.
Grace Pettit ran the 3,000 steeplechase in a downpour of rain. She braved the elements to produce a time of 11:28.82 in the preliminary race. Her time was good enough to nab the final qualifying position for the finals.Â
In the finals, she placed 13th in the nation, improving her seed in the Lancers' final race of the season (11:34.67).
