FORT WAYNE, Ind. - For the second straight week, Grace's track and field team competed at Indiana Tech as they continued the indoor season.
The Lancers had a number of strong performances at the Indiana Tech Invitational on Friday, including winning a handful of events.
Dimitri Margaritidis won the 800-meter run with a time of 1:57.67, and Logan Rufenacht won the mile in 4:18.67, an NAIA "B" standard..
The men dominated the 1,000, claiming five of the top-seven spots. Brady Hunsberger broke the tape at 2:35.56, and Luis Loera was second at 2:37.17. Carter Clear (2:41.80), Dakota Ames (2:44.43) and Carson Martin (2:44.81) finished 5-6-7 in the race.
The 4x400 foursome of Margaritidis, Loera, Justin Van Prooyen and Rufenacht placed third, crossing the finish line in 3:31.92.
Freshman Mick Wright paced Grace in the 60 dash at 7.17 seconds, and he ran 23.90 in the 200.
Justin Farris cleared 6-feet-2.5 in the high jump, and Noah Zimmerman leapt 22-8.5 in the long jump. Brandon Kleber placed fourth in the 3,000 at 8:54.86.
In the shot put, Brock Lengacher led the team in the shot put (44-3.5) and the weight throw (45-10).
On the women's side, Grace impressed in the mile with four of the top-six finishers. Esther Cameron was the runner-up at 5:25.93. Mallory Hiatt was fourth in 5:32.74 with CeCe Mitchell (5:41.94) and Grace Pettit (5:46.41) right behind.
In the 1,000 Kylie Sauder finished third with an NAIA "B" time of 3:02.17, and Tara Friesen was fourth at 3:05.35. Morgan Welch (3:09.63) and Addison Grady (3:11.24) also finished in the top seven in the race.
In the 600, Anna Hulstedt (1:42.06) and Friesen (1:42.77) finished third and fourth respectively, and Welch finished in 1:44.94.
Olivia Adkins (27.68) and Zoe Huley (27.72) finished neck-and-neck in the 200, and they also ran well in the 400 with Adkins at 1:01.84 and Huley at 1:03.69.
Madelyn Skidmore finished fifth in the 3,000 with a race of 11:04.67, and Emma Conrad was fifth in the 60 hurdles at 9.82. Gracious O'Connor ran 8.03 in the 60 dash.
The 4x400 team of Tame Baylis, Friesen, Hulstedt and Sauder finished their relay in 4:18.69.
