WINONA LAKE, Ind. - Grace College's men's soccer team swept the Crossroads League Player of the Week awards after advancing to the conference championship game.
The Lancers (13-4-3) topped Marin 1-0 in the quarterfinals before upsetting No. 8 Indiana Wesleyan 1-0 on Friday to advance to the championship game. Grace will play No. 4 Bethel on Saturday for the conference crown.
The Lancers were led to their two victories by
Juan Garcia who played a role in both of the Lancers' game winning markers last week. Garcia assisted on a goal against Marian and netted the goal that sent the Lancers to the championship and secured their upset over IWU.
On defense Grace was anchored by
Ben Kenn. Kenn picked up a pair of clean sheets while posting five saves to hold his opponents scoreless over 180 minutes.
