ORLANDO, Fla - Grace College's women's tennis team picked up a pair of wins in Orlando to close out a five game road trip in Florida.
The Lancers (12-7) fell to No. 5 Southeastern before winning both Friday afternoon contests 7-0 topping MSU-Moorhead and Ohio Wesleyan. Grace completed the road trip with a 3-2 mark with their only losses coming against No. 5 Southeastern and a narrow 4-3 loss to Otterbein.
Grace put itself against one of the NAIA's premier squads when it battled No. 5 Southeastern.
The Fire took the match 7-0 over the Lancers.
Grace battled bravely in doubles' competition.
Jimena Ramirez and
Alejandra Sandoval nearly picked off their opponent at No. 1 doubles, ultimately falling 7-5.
Ramirez also had a narrow loss at No. 1 singles, falling 6-2, 7-6 (6).
Lydia Ruegsegger almost produced a win in her singles' matchup before losing 4-6, 6-4, 10-5.
Grace was dominant in doubles play against OWU, not dropping a single set. All three Lancer duos (

Lydia Ruegsegger) won 6-0 to claim the doubles point for Grace.
Singles play was nearly as dominant for the Lancers as Grace took five of the six matches in straight sets. Ramirez (No. 1 singles) and Sandoval (No. 2 singles) both won 6-0, 6-0.
At No. 3 singles Schoenherr won 6-0, 6-1 and Moli Runestad clinched the contest for Grace with straight set wins of 6-2, 6-1.
Brumbaugh took the No. 5 singles match 6-1, 6-0 and
Amy Adams fought back from an opening set loss to win a tightly contested match 6-7, 7-6, 1-0.
Grace continued to roll against MSU with another 7-0 victory.
The Lancers dropped the first doubles match 7-6, Brumbaugh and Ruegsegger bounced back with a 6-2 win at No. 2 doubles and Runestad and Schoenherr clinched the doubles point with a 6-0 win.
The Lancers again showed their skill in singles action winning five of the six singles' points in straight sets for the second time in the afternoon.
