ALLENDALE, Mich. - Two more school records were set during the latest meet for Grace's track and field team.
The Lancers competed at Grand Valley State's Early Meet, marking the third outdoor meet of the season for Grace.
Kylie Sauder lowered her school-record time in the 1,500-meter run from a week ago. She posted a time of 4:28.96, hitting the NAIA "A" standard in the process.
Emily McCreary also broke a school record. She cleared 5-feet-4.25 in the high jump, breaking an 11-year-old record (Sabrina Whitaker, 2014). McCreary placed third in the meet.
The ladies dominated the 5,000. Esther Cameron was the runner-up at 17:22.51, and she was followed by Cece Mitchell in fourth, Tame Baylis in fifth, Grace Geller in seventh and Grace Pettit in eighth.
Lanae Crowe nabbed sixth place in the discus (140-6) and 10th in the shot put (35-3.75).
Olivia Adkins placed seventh in the 400 (1:01.15) with Sophie Rupp not far behind in 11th.
Cadence Manning was seventh in the 800 (2:21.19). She teamed up with Morgan Welch, Sauder and Adkins to grab seventh in the 4x400 (4:29.19).
On the men's side, Brock Lengacher had a big day. He was the runner-up in the javelin at 175-4 and also finished third in the discus (151-5).
Cole Johnston produced a fifth-place finish in the 5,000 with a run of 14:56.72, and Brady Hunsberger was 11th at 15:07.50.
Ty McPhatter was ninth in the 800 (1:58.68), and Mick Wright seized 12th in the 100 dash (10.99).
The men put two relay teams in the 4x400, earning fourth place from Caleb Nichols, McPhatter, Carter Clear and Hunsberger as well as sixth place from Jackson Winery, Michael Muiruri, Logan Clark and Wright.
Other top-10 throwers include Carter Paeschke (seventh) and Clayton Martin (ninth) in the javelin as well as Connor Etchison (10th) in the shot put.
The Lancers are next scheduled for the Little State Championships in Marion, Ind., on Friday and Saturday next week.
