GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Grace's track and field team competed in a trio of events at the 2026 NAIA Indoor Nationals this week.
Cece Mitchell earned an individual highlight. She posted an NAIA All-American finish in the 5,000-meter race. Mitchell crossed the finish line in 17:29.19, placing fifth in the country.
Mitchell's honor marks the fourth straight year that a Lady Lancer has registered an All-American award at indoor nationals.
Grace's women's 4x800 relay team posted a top-10 finish in the country to begin the Lancers' performance. The relay squad of Cherish Ray, Cadence Manning, Morgan Welch and Mitchell had a time of 9:11.68, good for 10th in the NAIA. The time was 0.54 away from qualifying for the finals.
The relay time was the third-fastest finish in team history for the 5,000.
On Friday, Mick Wright continued to lower his school record. Wright posted a finish of 6.77 seconds, finishing 10th in the nation. He lowered his school record by one-hundredth of a second.
The Lancers' outdoor season will kick off on March 20 with the IWU Polar Bear Classic.
