WINONA LAKE, Ind. - Grace College's men's golf team took third place and
Camron Jones took home the medalist honors at the Battle at Stonehenge on Tuesday afternoon.
The Lancers placed third in the nine team field and tied the program's sixth lowest score in program history with a two-round mark of 296.
Jones, who won the tournament and is now just four wins away from break career victories for the Lancers, cruised to a comfortable victory as he won by eight strokes. His identical rounds of 68 were tied for the sixth lowest single round scores for Grace and his tournament total of 136 was the second lowest two-round mark. Grace head coach
Trey Stoll holds the current record at 133.
Noah Riffle turned in a top-10 finish with a mark of 150. Riffle scored an impressive 73 on the first 18 holes of the 36-hole tournament.
Luke Rosebrook led the way for the Lancers "b-team" as he carded a mark of 156 which was good for 20th which is where he finished tied with teammate
Isaac Embry.
Braxton Christie went 80-78 to claim 26th and finish just one stroke ahead of
Henry Nussbaum who carded a 159.
Charlie Jones and
Max Seachrist tied for 34th with scores of 164.
Jake Keiser carded a 167 and
Gavin Tidd closed out the scoring for Grace with a 169.
The Lancers will be back in action on October 11, as they travel to Fairview, Pennsylvania to participate in the Howard "Bud" Elwell Invitational.
