SPRINGFIELD, Ohio - Grace's track and field team continued its indoor season at the Wittenberg Invitational on Saturday.
The Lancers hit another school record and gained valuable experience in Ohio.
Michael Muiruri cleared 45-7.75 in the triple jump. He bettered his school record by an inch and placed third in the event.
On the women's side, Cece Mitchell was a runner-up in the 5,000. She crossed the finish line in 17:51.80. Grace Geller was 11th in the event (18:39.96), and Grace Pettit was 12th (18:44.82).
Cherish Ray was also runner-up in the 400 with a race of 59.11 seconds.
Lani Calizo posted fifth place in the high jump (4-10.25), Morgan Welch was 11th in the mile (5:12.78), and Cadence Manning finished 12th in the 800 (2:23.04).
Other men's standouts included Brady Hunsberger, who earned an eighth-place showing in the 800 (1:55.91).
Muiruri recorded 12th place in the 60 hurdles (8.90), and Luke Mansfield finished 17th in the long jump (19-11.75).
Next up, the Lancers will compete in Marion, Ind., at the IWU Midwest Classic on Feb. 7. The meet will be Grace's final indoor meet in the regular season before taking on the Crossroads League Championships on Feb. 20-21.
