MARION, Ind. - Grace's track and field teams divided its efforts between a pair of meets over the weekend.
The Lancers sent a handful of athletes to Indiana Tech on Friday with the majority of the squad competing at Indiana Wesleyan on Saturday.
Grace had a strong showing, lowering two school records and hitting a pair of NAIA standards.
At Indiana Tech, a quartet of women hit an NAIA "A" standard. Morgan Welch, Cadence Manning, Cece Mitchell and Cherish Ray ran the 4x800-meter relay in a time of 9:29.48 to reach the NAIA "A" mark.
The men's crew of Brady Hunsberger, Ty McPhatter, Caleb Nichols and Reid Sollars placed eighth in the 4x800 relay (7:57.76).
At Indiana Wesleyan, Mick Wright continued to lower the 60-meter dash school record. He beat his previous mark from this year by nearly a tenth of a second, setting the new school record at 6.82 seconds (in the preliminary race). Wright went on to place second in the meet with a time of 6.84 in the finals.
Caleb Nichols was also runner-up in his event, running 1:57.00 in the 800.
