FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Grace's men's tennis team came up short in a ranked battle to Huntington on Thursday.

The No. 20 Lancers lost 5-2 to No. 10 Huntington in a match played indoors at the Wildwood Racquet Club.

The loss snaps a dominant run by the Lancers in Crossroads League play. Grace had won its last 27 matches in the regular season against league opponents. The streak began on Sept. 3, 2022, more than three years ago.

Huntington gained the early advantage by taking the doubles' point, two courts to one. Benjamin Rahine and Mahefa Rakotomalala were Grace's lone victors in doubles, teaming up for a 6-4 victory at No. 1 doubles.

The singles' matches were fiercely competitive. Four of the six courts ended in three sets.

Rahine went on to win in singles as well, claiming a three-set victory at No. 2.

Manuel Marques also pulled out a three-set win at No. 4 singles.

But the Foresters claimed the remaining three-setters, also winning at No. 3 and No. 6 singles to end the match.

The Lancers have three matches scheduled at home next week, including Tuesday (12 p.m.) vs No. 16 Marian, Thursday (2 p.m.) vs St. Francis and Saturday (2 p.m.) vs Bethel.
