Women's Tennis

No. 21 Fire too much for Grace

LAKELAND, Fla. - Grace's women's tennis team could not pull off the upset of No. 21 Southeastern on Monday.

The Lady Lancers lost 6-1 to the Fire to end their games in Florida.

All three doubles' courts were competitive for the Lady Lancers (13-6). Carrie Copeland and Jayna Armstrong narrowly won 7-6 (7-1) at No. 2 doubles, and Morgan Mast and Gretchen Adams lost 5-7 at No. 3.

The second win for Grace came at No. 1 doubles. Emily Mast and Dayana Ortega claimed a 6-3 victory at the top doubles' court.

The Fire won all six singles' matches in straight sets.

The Lady Lancers return to action March 21, competing against Campbellsville in Indianapolis. The Tigers are receiving votes in the NAIA.
