PALM COAST, Fla. - Sophomore
Parker Wilburn continued his strong play at the NCCAA National Championships, carding a second round score of 74 at the Hammock Beach Ocean Course. After two rounds, Wilburn leads the individual competition with a 1-under total of 143, two shots better than Marcos de Ezcurra from Asbury University (Ky.).
Despite Wilburn's success, the Lancers had a rough day on the course, dropping from the overall team lead into fifth place. Grace shot 323 on Tuesday after a 301 on the opening day. The Lancers current total of 624 is just four shots out of third place.
"I'm so proud of Parker. He really came to play," said Coach
Denny Hepler. "With a good team round tomorrow, a top three finish is not out of the picture. I look for our guys to make a strong comeback."
Blake Lawson finished with an 80, while
Noah Wright shot 83.
Chase Byron was the fourth scorer for Grace with a round of 86. Tristan Dubbs added a 90.
