CEDARVILLE, Ohio - The 2025-26 season kicked off on Friday evening for Grace's men's tennis team.
The Lancers traveled to NCAA Div. II Cedarville, dealing the Yellow Jackets a 5-2 defeat.
Benjamin Rahine starred atop Grace's lineup. He teamed up with Mahefa Rakotomalala at No. 1 doubles for a perfect 6-0 win. Later, he won in straight sets at the No. 1 singles' spot.
Rakotomalala also picked up a win in singles, leading through two sets before his opponent retired.
Manuel Marques also earned a pair of points. He joined Stergios Papadopoulos for a 6-4 win at No. 2 doubles; Marques then battled to a three-set victory at No. 2 singles.
Papadopoulos also had to win in three sets at No. 3 singles, recovering after dropping the opening set.
The Lancers will remain in Ohio on Saturday for a neutral-site match against Lawrence Tech.
Grace's home opener is set for Oct. 18 against Ferris State.
