WARSAW, Ind. - Grace's women's tennis team could not record its second upset in as many days, falling 6-1 to Lewis-Clark State on Friday.
Lewis-Clark is receiving votes in the NAIA poll.
Grace came into Friday's match fresh off a takedown of No. 12 Holy Cross on Thursday.
Lewis-Clark earned a hard-fought doubles' point. Shannon Brumbaugh and Landry Schrock blanked their opponents 6-0 at No. 2 doubles.
Jimena Ramirez and Faith Valentine nearly pulled off the win at the top doubles' court, but LC held on to win 6-4.
The Warriors battled to take five of the six singles' matches. Ramirez was Grace's sole winner, pulling out a win via tiebreak (5-7, 6-2, 10-7) at No. 1 singles.
The Lancers have a quick turnaround, playing at Mt. Vernon Nazarene on Saturday to start the Crossroads League season.
