Talamas highlights Lancers’ league honors

WINONA LAKE, Ind. - Marcelo Talamas was named the Crossroads League Offensive Player of the Year for Grace's men's soccer team.

Talamas joined Ivan Santagiuliana and Togo Narusawa as honorees to the league's postseason awards.

For the season, Talamas led Grace in both goals (15) and assists (5). He scored eight of his goals in league play, tied for most among any player. He also earned Player of the Week honors from the NCCAA and CL during the season.

Santagiuliana was a First Team All-League defender, voted by the coaches as one of the top four defenders in the conference. He scored four goals, fourth-most on the team, despite playing exclusively as a defender.

Santagiuliana helped Grace record four shutouts on the year, including three in Crossroads League play.

Narusawa was a Second Team All-League midfielder. The quick-footed player played all over the field for the Lancers, used in a variety of ways by head coach Arron Patrick. Narusawa has one goal and two assists to his credit so far this year.

The Lancers (9-6-3) are awaiting their postseason fate and a potential NCCAA regional game. Grace is poised for its fifth straight trip to the NCCAA National Championships.
